Board of Directors

Daniel Klatt, President

Dan Klatt is an accomplished water polo coach with a 338-173 record in his 18th season as the head coach of the UC Irvine women’s water polo team. He has led UC Irvine through its ascent toward the top of the water polo landscape, including reaching the NCAA Tournament six times, capturing seven Big West regular season titles and seven Big West Tournament titles, and making five NCAA Tournament appearances. In 2020, Klatt led the Anteaters to a No. 3 national ranking, the highest ranking in program history.

Klatt’s coaching success extends beyond UC Irvine as he serves as an assistant coach with the U.S. Women’s National Team, and has helped the team earn three consecutive gold medals in the London (2012), Brazil (2016), and Tokyo (2020/2021) Olympic Games. He has also helped Team USA to titles in both the FINA Women’s World Cup and the FINA World League Super Finals. Klatt has also served as the head coach of the U.S. junior national team.

Klatt’s playing history is just as impressive. He was a member of the 2004 U.S. Olympic Water Polo team that competed in the Athens Games. As a student-athlete, Klatt was a two-time All-American at UC Irvine and graduated in 2001. Klatt’s dedication to water polo and his commitment to excellence in coaching make him an excellent addition to the Anteater Aquatics Foundation.
